Little Darlings and Michelle Oatman

Today, we are so very fortunate to be able to share another project from the mega talented designer, Michelle Oatman

Hello! I have had a really hard time trying to find something to make for my last DT spot. And honestly I came up with a few different things that I wanted to make, but I just kept seeing this blank wood bird house sitting on my shelf. It was calling out to use a few of the Cutie Pie images... and when a bird house is calling out to you.. you have to do something with it!
Michelle Oatman 1

The images that I used are - "Pretty Posie", "Flowers For You" the "Green House" and then even though she isn't part of the In the Garden release, I totally adore her, so I had to use "What a Sweetheart". I just wish the bird house had been larger so I could have added even more of them!

Basics of the birdhouse. I purchased a wood bird house from the craft store. I painted the first coat with a chocolate brown. Then I painted with Plaid Crackle Medium. You have to let it dry completely. Then I painted the top coat with a cream paint. All of my paints are acrylic. As it dries.. the crackle magic happens. Love watching that!

Then, for the roof I punched a whole lot of Fiskars heart punches out of coredinations brown card stock that I sanded each one. Then lots of glue and you layer them to create the shingles on the roof. The ridge I added gingham ribbon, and then a row of pearls, it reminded me of those victoran houses and their awesome time decorations across the tops. Around the edge, pretty woven lace ribbon, and button tops. A olive green matching lace ribbon around the bottom for a grass type of bottom.

At that point... you just dig through all the stuff you have stashed over time. I found lots of little pieces that were just perfect for the garden theme - a little shovel, a flowers sign, tiny little plastic flowers, little sayings and quotes, a clock face, chipboard flourishes and lots of bling items. This is where I tend to go a bit overboard, the little embellishments, but I forced myself to stop. I don't think I did too much.. LOL

It is so much fun to use my stamps with a 3-d decorating item. Great gifts! I hope mine inspired you to pick up something to alter and pull out your stamps and then have lots of FUN!

I want to thank everyone here at Little Darlings Stamps - Angie, Mindy and Sheri are the greatest to work for, and all of the DT are super talented, my Guest DT spot has been a huge honor and a ton of crafting fun. Thanks!
Michelle O.

Michelle, we are so incredibly thankful you agree to join us! Everything you've created has inspired us and (speaking for myself)...picking my jaw up off the ground every time I open an email with your project attached! You put so much love into every single detail! On behalf of Little Darlings...thank you so very much!! (((hugs)))

Hi Everybody!  Angie here!  I've returned from CHA and spent a few minutes recovering.  It was an absolute blast!!!  I'm hoping that you saw the pics on our LDRS Facebook Group.  If not, then check it out here!  I've still got a bunch of pics to edit and post so you'll be seeing more in the coming days.

Today I hope to inspire you with a project that I made for the ladies to wear in the CHA booth.  All by my little ol' self, I made aprons from start to finish.  Here's a couple of pics:

Here, our DT models, Ruby and Mindy are showing you two of the aprons...Ruby is wearing 'Pretty Posie' by LDRS and Mindy is wearing 'Summer' by Saturated Canary (available soon).  Remember, the new images will be available soon at LDRS as well as a craft store near you.  Many retail stores will be posting their pre-orders soon so be on the lookout so you can place our orders while supplies last!!!

The images were stamped on a lightweight canvas with Memento ink, colored gently with Copic markers, and then heat set with an iron.  I used shabby chic fabrics and mixed them all up so no two aprons are alike.  I made the pattern myself...but it's really just a lot of sewing of panels, gathering them to make the ruffles, and stitching them on to the cavas base.  I used some really pretty heavy ribbon for the straps that tie in the back.  It was a simple, but time consuming, project.

Well, that is it from me today!
I hope you enjoyed my project and will maybe even try to make your own some time.

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Angie

You could find Pretty Posie from the most recent Cutie Pie release ."In the Garden"

available at the Little Darlings store.

I hope to see you back sooner than later but be ready for next DT posting coming up with some juicy juicy sharing from Mindy. Oh she has some good good posting to share so make sure to make it back on Wednesday July 18th.

Prepare to be amazed!

Today, we are so fortunate to have our guest designer, Michelle Oatman joining us again and my goodness, gracious...is her card STUNNING! Michelle, you have outdone yourself!

Hello and Happy Friday  - it is my turn to post again this month as Guest DT, and I am so excited to get a chance to play with these stamps. My card looks really complicated, but it really is pretty easy just lots of layers. I first saw this Double Zig Zag card and tutorial on Mariannes Papirverden under her tutorials. I love the look of vintage or shabby chic cards, and these gorgeous Little Darlings images are perfect for all the pretty layers and lacy look.

For my card I used three images. The band that is the closure has the Little Darlings background Bird Bath, cut into an oval. Then inside we find from the Spring 2012 release "Isn't She Lovely" - she is one of my favorites  - I colored with my Copics and a little shading with pencils. Then my sentiment inside is from the newest Cutie Pie release, "In the Garden - Sentiments". Fabulous sentiments for many types of cards.

My pattern papers are from K&Company Designer Paper collection. Punch used is Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace corner/border set. Lots of Mulberry Roses with Martha's Frond and Branch punches. Then of course my sewing machine. I don't know if I could feel like a card is done until I have sewed it together. LOL

You can find more info on my personal blog if you like.

Pretty posie!

Ciao!

How are you? I really am over the moon ... as you know at the moment I am in Martinsiscuro, home of my friend Lalla, where I'll stay for a few days ....
later, I go to Rome, to meet Barbara and frequent the beautiful course that timbrosccrapmania proposes to us with Claudia Rosa! I'm really felicissimissimo! :)

but today I'm not here to tell you about this, but to show you what I created today for the Little Darling rubber stamps .... today is my inspirational post and to follow the theme was "anything goes" ... easier than that !

So, first of all I decided that I would use the cards .... are the beautiful graphics 45 from collection. ... uh! I forgot!

however, after choosing the papers I threw myself headlong into the color .... I colored  Pretty Posie with my Pencils...

embellished with some Stickles in the dirt to give some idea of the 'sand ... here you can clearly see in detail ..
See you soon and thank you for stopping by!
